While I was at the cat rescue last week, getting the kittens their first shots (story to come later), we were discussing the latest $$$$$ ploy that a lot of the $$$$$ oriented veterinarians are coming up with. Apparently, I am told , their is a vaccine (rabies) that is *only good for 1 year ! Not positive if it had been out for awhile and *tabled* in favor of the 1 year/3year or if it is new! But either way, the rescue people were telling me that many of the $$$ oriented vets are *giving that vaccine now* and then telling people that it is only good for one year.

I am sure this is as a result of the new vaccine studies etc and that pet owners are becoming aware of the 1 year and 3 year being the same vaccine. So, the have to something to get them back into the office !@ Grrrrrrrrrr....

The name of it begins with a P PurVac (sp?) or something like that. Apparently, it is supposed to only be good for 1 year...... so that is why many are using that one more often now.

So, now we will have to become more knowledgeable in the names of the rabies vaccines and start asking
which one they intend to give and then tell them, no, we will not accept that vaccine ! <sigh>

I don't have time to research this right now, but maybe Barkster, you might find it a worth while project?
