Subject: RE: REGARDS YOUR PRODUCTS

Hi Peter,

Thank you very much for your response to all my questions J Before I put this up on my site, myself and some others, were wondering if you would expound a bit more on the *rendering issue* ! I have to say that not only myself, but others on the lists said they were impressed with your products. Some had never heard of ORIJEN before I posted our emails to the lists, but really liked what they read about the foods !

You said:
We are not able to say that foods are completely free of rendered ingredients.
All high-protein diets contain rendered ingredients.

Rendered ingredients in ORIJEN include:
Fish meal: sourced from fish fresh-caught off North Vancouver Island, processed expressly for ORIJEN. (does that include the chicken and turkey too)

When I speak of rendered ingredients being in foods, I am speaking of the rendered products from the nasty plants which contain, everything but the kitchen sink, i.e. dead animals, sutures, road kill , and well, you know what plants and of what I am speaking of! !

So, when you say the above about *rendered products being processed expressly for ORIJEN*........... could you please expound on that a bit more? It sounds like you are saying you DO NOT USE the *common rendering from those other plants*, but , instead have your own plant and your own rendering ingredients to produce the meals which are from the fresh animals mentioned directly underneath. ? Or am I reading something that is not there?

If this is the case, and you do not use the *disgusting rendering*from those other plants and in fact do your own at your own plant, you will have some people knocking down your doors, methinks.... J

One of the reasons I feed raw medallions is to avoid the possibility of any of that disgusting rendering being in Lil-Lea’s food! And I have nothing to supplement her with in terms of commercial food because of the possibility of it being in most of the commercial foods. That and any source containing beef, such as fats and proteins, perhaps.... I would love to find something else I can feed her occasion for a change.

The other issue that I am just curious about is how you avoid having to put Ethoxyquin in your fish meal since it is a FDA requirement for all non-human food products that contain fish meal! Is it because your products are manufactured in Canada so you do not have to follow that particular requirement? Just curious! That was the only thing I could think of that would allow you to avoid having to put that ugly stuff in : ) We were all *thrilled to see that*~

In fact, regarding that: it was late when I sent out our email communication to some of the lists, after I received your response. I had a full day and was really tired and accidently thought you had said it *was used in our foods* and mentioned I was going to ask you about that, and boy, did I get a few emails correcting me very fast !~ Thank goodness I was wrong on that one : ) But it shows they were reading what you wrote : )

4 WEEKS FRESH !!! Wow, that’s great! There is one store in Virginia Beach that sells your product, so depending on what the rendering response is and If it is what I think it is, then I will be going there tomorrow on my way to or from Care-a-lot, if I hear from you by then , as Lil-Lea is really tiring of the medallions even with the rotation.

Thank you again for your time J
