Subject: REGARDS YOUR PRODUCTS

Hi,

I am very impressed by your ingredients and with your high proteins in your foods! I never thought that the NRC’s minimum requirement of 22% was high enough, but certainly much better that the AAFCO 18% minimum requirement, that they changed it to, so the companies could save $$$$$ producing their foods! Grrrrrrrrrr.......

I have a toy poodle, Lil-Lea. I acquired her over a year ago and immediately took her off all grains! (other than homemade rice she gets on occasion) I feed her NV medallions and supplement her with human foods. We think she has a beef allergy, so I am interested only in a dry *supplement food* for her that contains no fats, proteins or any other potential source of beef or beef product in the food! She gets no rabbit, as *NV gets their rabbit from CHINA* . She gets no Venison as I am worried about *wasting disease* And, of course, she now gets no beef. Since she has been off the beef chewing her feet has almost stopped! She eats NV lamb, chicken and turkey for now and people foods. I am not feeding her any dry, not even NV until I know the source of and am confident of the source of all protein and fat in any dry food!

I also am *thrilled* to see you say *NOT RENDERED* on your fish ingredients list! Can you say the same for your other flavors/formulas? And I am a bit confused as to exactly what your other flavors/formulas are! Are you able to state that no ingredients in your foods are from a rendering plant?

I see the FISH as separate, on your site, but then I see *adult* and am confused by what flavor that is ! Is the adult, different meats all in one formula ?
Is there only one flavor for adults, other than the fish? At least that is how I am interpreting it to be.

Can you tell me something about the plant you use to manufacture your foods? Do you own it, where it is located, what else is manufactured there? Do you manufacture ALL your foods yourselves or is anything *farmed out* to other manufacture’s/companies?

Is the facility a USDA inspected and/or organic factory set up?

Are all your products shipped directly from the factory to the stores and what is the average shelf life at the plant (s) prior to shipping?

And can you tell me where you obtain your various ingredients from ?

I appreciate your time in this matter. As you well know, a concerned pet owner, cannot be too careful these days of what Pet Food they are feeding.
These are very scary times for the pet owners and the past year has been disastrous for all of us who love our fur babies.

As you can see from the links below my signature, I am extremely active in researching and providing accurate information to list members on both my own lists and the ones I belong to. I also hand out cards to people shopping for pet foods, in stores, to come and join us and become knowledgeable about the Pet Food Industry.

As you will also see on my Animals Speak site.......very few Pet Foods impress me and I am very distrustful of the industry in general and in many of the companies!

I *am* however *always looking* for companies that lend themselves towards being a better company and producing foods that are healthy and are not afraid of full discloser to the consumer!~ That is pretty much all I am interested!

The bunch of the hooey that goes on between all the various officials AAFCO, FDA, PFI , AVMA , the cattleman’s association, and all the other agencies involved with the Pet Food industry, just drives me to want to scream.........stop this insanity and start telling us the Truth instead of us having to dig it out of all your websites~

FYI: Speaking of full disclosure...... I wish to disclose to you that anything you share with me. I will also share with those on my lists and on my Animals Speak forum.

My thinking with all Pet Food companies is , that if it is a good of a product as they claim, then that should be an asset to them to have their information posted publically, as in the case of Nature’s Variety! The president of the company chatted with us on Itchmo, and was honest with us about the source of the rabbit! We do not agree with his reasoning, but we do agree with his honesty and disclosure~ That we can respect and there for have trust the other product information and I certainly feel good about sending people to their company. I personally just don’t feed the rabbit as many others don’t~ But we stayed with the company.

I look forward to hearing from you and learning more about your company and products...... Now I will go read the rest of your website :)
