Reports on various lab tests.
This site is for those of you who want to know about what is going on with Pet Foods *BEFORE* the FDA posts a recall (which is always way too late) ..........or those who want to know what is going on when they see brands quietly sliding off the shelves in stores and wonder why!
It’s for those who want to be kept informed *before* the FDA gets around to issuing a recall~ and so be able to make their own decisions as to whether or not they choose to believe the consumer, and not wait for the ever-late FDA Recall... at the discretion of the manufacturer.
The Pet Food Products Safety Alliance is a cooperative effort to promote pet food safety through citizen oversight, research, testing, public awareness and legislative reform.
They are testing food and then posting the reports. They are looking for foods to test! The first food to be tested and reported on:
October 11, 2007: pfpsa.org has received the lab results back from its first order for pet food testing. A composite of Special Kitty "with beef and gravy" Lot DEC 09 09 13:53, Special Kitty "mixed grill in gravy" Lot DEC 07 08 01:39, and Special Kitty "with turkey & giblets in gravy" Lot DEC 08 08 13:47, sent to the lab in original, unopened pouches, tested positive for acetaminophen and melamine.
