Well, this is sure to interest some of you ......... ! ~
I had a computer lesson to teach today. So, on the way (I was a bit early) I decided to stop into one of the small local Pet stores around the corner from my client. I used to shop there for foods.........Before I took Lil-Lea off them all !! The owner is *very* knowledgeable about foods and I enjoy swapping information with her and they also have some neat toys there for Lil-Lea, which she loves.
Following is a small synopsis of our conversation (the store owner and myself)! Not word for word, of course, but the juste of it.

I asked her if she had been notified by Orijen about the bones shards and told her about the *tiny* ad on the Champion site where it can barely be noticed! I also told her that some distributors are claiming they were never told about it and their customers told them instead.
She said when she heard about the bones, she called them, and more less told them what she thought about the whole thing. I asked her if it was Peter she spoke with and she said, no, it was Clark, she said she had spoken with. That sounds right, as I believe him to be the one in charge of distribution, as I have an email from him to myself stashed away somewhere.
Apparently, the conversation got to the point where she told him.....in what I gather was a rather disgruntled, annoyed voice, (in part):
" In other words, you are just like every other commercial pet food manufacturer out there" to which he responded, (in part):
"You (or we) should not hang up on such a bad note!"
I also told her what various members have told me and told others, on the lists etc, about the lack of response some are complaining about, as well as still seeing the product with the affected lot codes, still on shelves in stores, even as we speak..
And she said that the bone shards are getting *worse*, specifically that the bone pieces are getting *larger*!
She is as totally disgruntled as am at hearing yet even more bad news and lack of response and the continued issue !
I explained that I had been ready to start Lil-Lea on Orijen 6 Fish and had written the company asking how I could get the 6 Fish. I believe it was Clark, who e-mailed me back. Shortly after that, I found out where I could purchase it, and was about to do just that, the bone shard situation started !
At first I thought, OK...... An error and they are fixing it and according to them, it would not happen again. I'll just wait awhile until this passes. Then........ I started hearing all the complaints. That was it for me !
We did not get to chat as long as I would have liked, as the store was busy with shoppers.......so I did not get to expand about all this.

I find the whole thing very disheartening. <sigh> I am really discouraged about this one~
I had *thought* that perhaps this was a company considerably different than the others, but is rather quickly showing itself to be no different then any of the others when it comes to caring about our pets and their safety. IMO !
