Smarty Paws Dog Training in New Hyde Park, NY Announces New Group Classes for Obedience and Socialization
Smarty Paws Dog Training by Helen Del Bove provides positive dog training for all ages and levels. Helen's services include private, in-home instruction/counseling for obedience and behavior problems as well as group classes for puppy nursery, puppy kindergarten and basic obedience.

Long Island, NY, May 17, 2008 --(PR.COM)-- Smarty Paws provides positive training that really works. Helen believes there are no bad dogs, only untrained dogs. Anytime a person is in the company of a dog, one of them is being trained and it is better to be the trainer than the trainee.

That couldn't be more true so, as Helen says, "Train your dog before he trains you!" Helen Del Bove is an Animal Behavior College Certified Dog Trainer and a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) with over 20 years experience working with dogs and their humans.

Helen believes that dog training should be a positive experience for both dogs and humans and she teaches how to work with dogs while keeping their tails wagging. Helen’s training programs teach the dog to accept the owner as a benevolent leader. The end result will be that the dog will learn to listen to cues and undesirable behaviors will be eliminated or curtailed. With positive training, no puppy is too young to start and no dog is too old to learn.

Starting puppies young with socialization and training is crucial for the dog to live up to its true potential as a companion animal. Helen teaches proper socialization, how to build a strong bond with the pup and how to avoid common behavior problems. Helen provides private, in-home instruction for basic obedience, common problem solving and behavior modification of serious behavior problems.

Group classes for basic obedience are conducted April thru October and new classes for Basic Obedience (6 months and older), Puppy Kindergarten (4-6 months) and Puppy Nursery (10-16 weeks) have just been added. In addition to the Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon Basic Obedience Group Classes currently offered, Smarty Paws has added classes on weekday evenings at 7pm.

Basic Obedience is Wednesdays at 7pm starting May 28th. The newly added Puppy Kindergarten is offered on Thursdays at 7pm starting May 29th.

For the very tender ages, Puppy Nursery is on Tuesdays at 7pm. The deadline for registration in group classes is Saturday, May 24th.

Additional group classes begin in July. Interested dog owners can call Helen at 516-395-7884 or visit the Smarty Paws Dog Training website at www.smartypawsny.com for more information about Helen and her training programs as well as some helpful tips and fun photos. As Helen is fond of saying - "Happy Tails!"
