2008-06- 00 DIAMOND FOODS - RESPONSE ON WHERE THEY SOURCE INGREDIENTS FROM
"We buy all of our ingredients from US companies. We have requested that all of these companies provide us with letters of origin for each ingredient that we use in our products.
Taurine and vitamins are critical components of a mammalian diet, and are no longer available from US sources, so they are outsourced from Europe and Asia, and imported into the US. These ingredients are tested by in vitro (laboratory) testing for toxins by our vendor, prior to use in our feeds.
